Welcome to Intuit Fit Blog!
Hi there! I’m Hanna, and I am working towards becoming an ACE Health Coach!
I am launching this new blog on WordPress.com to share my newest adventure in which I am pursuing the path to become an American Council on Exercise (ACE) Certified Health Coach. I am going to share some of my personal insights and passions about health and wellness right here. Some of the questions that I will be answering in my upcoming posts are:
- Why am I becoming a Health Coach?
- What is my vision and mission for my career as a Health Coach?
- As well as one that has been on my mind more and more: How does Health Coaching fit with Counseling?
I will also share my story about how I have been personally building a better mind, body, and heart through eating delicious foods using the intuitive eating philosophy.
Follow me as I pursue my passion to help people love themselves first and improve their lives by improving their mind, body, and heart!
Hey ya’ll! I’m Hanna! My life has been a journey of self-discovery. Like so many other beautiful women in our society, I have always struggled with my body. I was a healthy, but somewhat overweight teenager who never quite found the right clothes for my body. I have struggled with emotional eating all of my life. My relationship with food became something that both helped me get through tough times in life where I battled depression and social anxiety, but also led to feelings of guilt for overeating and being unable to control myself around food, especially sweets and chocolates. I have struggled with maintaining exercise because I would work my body into overdrive so to speak, and then I would not get the proper rest and nutrition to replenish my strength. This led to dreadful bouts with brain fog and fatigue as a teenager in which I had no energy to interact with friends, to perform well in school, or to improve my skills in athletic pursuits. I remember having this feeling that I just wasn’t like other kids who seemed to have boundless energy; I felt something was wrong with me.
Have you ever been there? I know now that I am not the only person in this society who has experienced these issues. I am going to share bits and pieces of my wellness journey about how I am learning to take back my health and vitality. I am not a big proponent of weight-loss as the primary indicator of a person’s health, especially when it involves dieting. Rather, I like to view wellness through the lens of self-acceptance and compassion. For me, this means focusing on building healthy, SUSTAINABLE behaviors into our lifestyles. At some point, we have to realize that we can never be perfect human beings. However, we can still choose to engage in behaviors that bring vitality into each and every present moment. All we have is right here and right now. I am going to share with you my views of how we can both accept our imperfections and strive for something better!
